Tigers in Kenya?!
You’ve probably heard that there are no tigers in Africa. But did you known that the tiger’s ancestors did in fact originate on the continent? How strange they didn’t stay, especially since some of the tiger’s family (cheetahs and lions, for a start) definitely carry an African passport. For some inexplicable reason, the cats that eventually became tigers packed up their bags around 2 million years ago and headed north to India, never to return.
Well, there’s no accounting for the oddities of relatives! And I’m sure we all have a strange cat somewhere on our family tree.
Fortunately, life is full of creative opportunities. Next week, I’ll share how one tiger managed to make a home in Kenya.
