You remember when I wrote last time about the arrival of the rainy season? And how happy I was?
Well, I wasn’t so happy a few nights ago.
Rains are great, unless…
You haven’t cleaned the gutters in a while. And the heavens unleash a flood of Biblical proportions. And the gutters overflow, swamping the roof. And…
…it starts raining in your bedroom.
Rushing around with buckets, towels and mops wasn’t exactly how I wanted to spend my evening. Eventually the rain eased up and the family went to sleep with the melodious music of water dripping into buckets and flying ants buzzing around the bedrooms.
If you want more quirky stories from Africa, then you’ll definitely want to read Ghosts of Tsavo – which is still on a FREE promo! – and The Automaton’s Wife – which is on sale for $0.99 until 17 April.
Let me know what you think of them. Post a rating on Amazon and I’ll send you a free story (just send me an email to let me know you wrote a review).
Cheers until next time (and hopefully I won’t have a swimming pool in my living room).
Don't just sit there - say something!
